The parent tax

You didn't sign up for this.

Most parents start the 11+ journey thinking it's one book and a Saturday class. Eighteen months later, here's what it actually looks like.

01

The £8,000 tutor trap

Private tutors cost £45–£90 an hour. Two sessions a week for a year adds up fast — and waiting lists for the good ones opened before your child could read.

Average UK spend on 11+ prep: £6,200
02

Sunday morning meltdowns

You bought the CGP books. Now you're the tutor, the enforcer, and the bad guy — all before 10am. Nobody enjoys it. The relationship takes the hit.

Parents who argue weekly about 11+ prep: 71%
03

"Is she even improving?"

You mark paper after paper, but you have no idea if she's actually closing gaps or just memorising the same mistakes. No benchmark. No visibility. Pure anxiety.

Parents who feel "flying blind": 4 in 5
04

The moving target

GL. CEM. ISEB Pretest. Every school uses a different format, and the syllabus shifts quietly each year. Keeping up is a full-time research job.

Format changes in last 3 years: 12+
05

Confidence, quietly crumbling

Every red cross hits harder than it should. Bright kids start believing they're "not good enough." By September, they've lost the spark that got them here.

Children reporting exam stress: 68%
06

Siblings and sanity

You have another child. A job. A life. But the 11+ demands daily, individualised attention — and you can only clone yourself so many times.

The quiet revolution

An AI tutor that actually knows your child.

Not a worksheet generator. Not a quiz app. A personal tutor that watches how your child thinks — and adjusts, in real time, like the best human tutors do.

01 — Diagnosis

15 minutes. Every weakness, mapped.

An adaptive diagnostic pinpoints exactly which of the 240+ 11+ sub-skills your child has and hasn't mastered. The blind spots you never would've found.

02 — Daily plan

20-minute sessions, never the same twice.

Every day, your child gets a perfectly-sized session that targets their next growth edge. Short enough to say yes. Hard enough to matter.

03 — Live coaching

Explains every wrong answer, instantly.

When she gets stuck, the AI walks her through it — patiently, the way a great human tutor would. No waiting until next Thursday.

04 — Parent dashboard

Finally: you can see progress.

A weekly email tells you exactly what she's mastered, what she's struggling with, and whether she's on track for her target schools.

05 — Mock exams

Real GL, CEM, ISEB formats. Timed.

Full-length mocks in the exact format of your target schools. With percentile rankings against thousands of other candidates.

Cheaper than your morning flat white.

We built this because we refused to pay £90 an hour for a tutor who ran out of past papers by March. It works out to less than a takeaway coffee — and your child gets a world-class tutor on tap.

  • Unlimited daily sessions, all four subjects
  • Full mock exams in GL, CEM and ISEB formats
  • Weekly parent reports, plain English, no jargon
  • Up to three children per family account

What parents say

Quiet Sundays. Confident kids.

★★★★★
Our weekends are back. Rohan does his 20 minutes before breakfast and doesn't fight me on it anymore — he actually asks to do extra on the good days.

I was paying £240 a week to a tutor who kept rescheduling. Three months in with 11plusexam.ai and Aanya's mock score jumped 22 points. I'm a convert.

The weekly parent email is worth the subscription alone. For the first time, I actually understand what she's learning and where she needs help.

My son got into Wilson's. I credit his tutor, his teacher, and — genuinely — this app. It spotted his non-verbal reasoning gap when I'd completely missed it.

I have twins. Twins. One tutor costs more than a family holiday. This was a no-brainer — they both use it on separate profiles and neither complains.

Honestly? It's made my daughter enjoy learning again. She'd started to dread maths. Now she shows me her streak every night at dinner.

Parents ask

Everything you want to know.

Which exam boards do you cover? +
Everything. GL Assessment, CEM, ISEB Pretest, plus the specific formats used by Tiffin, Henrietta Barnett, Reading, Wilson's, QE Boys, SPGS, City of London, and the consortium grammar schools across Bucks, Kent, Essex, Birmingham, Trafford and beyond. You choose the target schools during setup.
Isn't screen time already a problem? +
Sessions are capped at 20–25 minutes by design. We'd rather your child learn consistently for a focused block than burn out staring at a screen for hours. The app actively encourages breaks and won't let them binge.
Does it replace a human tutor entirely? +
For most families, yes. For some — particularly kids who need emotional accountability or are targeting super-selective schools — we pair beautifully with a monthly human tutor session. You'll know which camp you're in within the first two weeks.
My child is only in Year 3 — too early? +
Not at all. The earlier you start with short daily habits, the less intense things feel closer to the exam. We have a Foundation track for Years 3–4 that focuses on making reasoning and mental maths feel natural, not rushed.
How is this different from other 11+ apps? +
Most apps are fancy worksheets. We're an actual tutor — one that explains, re-teaches, and genuinely adapts. When your child gets something wrong, it doesn't just show the answer; it figures out whether they misread the question, didn't know the rule, or made a process error, and responds accordingly.
What if we cancel? +
Cancel anytime, one tap, no "are you sure" loops. You keep access until the end of the billing period. We'll email you a full progress report you can take anywhere.

Give them the edge. Keep your Sundays.
